Eight franchises play a single round-robin — each team plays the other seven once, 28 league matches in all — followed by four playoff matches. Every match is a 20-over-a-side T20.
A win is worth 2 points. A tie (with no super over played) or a no result is worth 1 point to each side. A tied match decided by a super over counts as a win for the super-over winner.
Teams level on points are separated by net run rate: runs scored per over minus runs conceded per over, across all league matches. A side that is bowled out is treated as having faced its full 20 overs. See it worked through on the points table.
The top four qualify. Qualifier 1: 1st v 2nd, winner straight to the final. Eliminator: 3rd v 4th, loser out. Qualifier 2: loser of Q1 v winner of the Eliminator. Final: winner of Q1 v winner of Q2.
In 2026, the Decision Review System is used in the four knockout matches only. League-stage decisions by the on-field umpires are final (with the TV umpire available for line decisions such as run outs and stumpings).
If scores are level after both innings, a one-over-per-side super over decides the match. Each side bats once, with two wickets in hand.
